Clean Air
Sir,—You recently printed an account by a Californian visitor to the “Land of Longevity.” Among the many requisites for health which supply the people of Hunaaland, was beautifully clean air taken for granted? In the same edition, significantly, an item stated that if every man used petroleum at the same rate as the average Australian and New Zealander the world’s atmosphere would be burnt out in lees than 7000 years. If smog is uncontrolled how Icmg will it be before our solar energy is eclipsed in increasingly unhealthy murk? Yours, etc., PERTAINING TO SURVIVAL. September 10, 1961.
