Bay of Plenty Fixtures

An invitation for a team s of Christchurch centre bowl- < ers to tour the Bay of Plenty t next March was accepted at < a meeting of the centre last 1 evening. The party will Christchurch on March I The meeting was told that 1 the Redcliffs club bad adopted < the centre blazer and mono- 1 gram. 1 A letter from the Canter- i bury Diggers’ Bowling Centre £ requested permission to hold < the R.S.A. elimination tourn- t ament on February 17. The i winner of this tournament 1 would compete in the national < tournament. The diggers < also sought permission to hold 1 their annual tournament on March 3 and 4. Approval for the two fixtures was granted. Delegates were informed of the following representative fixtures for the coming season: Barnett Tiki (against North Otago), at Oamaru, December 9; Ludley-Neil Cup (against West Coast), at Christchurch, December 9; Steans Cup (against South Canterbury), at Christchurch. December 2; Redpath Shield (against Dunedin centre), at Dunedin, December 2. Mr J. S. Bisman, chairman of the match committee, said entries for inter-club compeitions had closed. They were. Manning Cup, 216 entries from 42 clubs; three fours, 36 entries from 34 clubs; Robinson Shield, 60 ‘ entries from 27 clubs. It .was resolved that for 1 opening days this year there be an exchange of delegates 1 between clubs. The change : will prevent club delegates representing the centre at 1 their own clubs’ openings. j
