Sept. 3 There were two sensations in the semi-finals of the South Auckland golf championships, which concluded today at St. Andrews, Hamilton, when the two top New Zealand representatives, R. R. Newdick and W. J. Godfrey were beaten by young Hamilton players. B. T. Boy*. aged ls 9. who won this year’s Waikato championship at Easter, played splendid golf to beat Godfrey. 2 up. and Stevens, a 22-year-oki Hamilton player, in spite of being dormy two down, beat the New Zealand champion. Newdick. on the twentieth green. Thi> afternoon Boys won the final against Stevens. 5 and 4.
