Otago Beats Southland

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. Sept. 3. The Otago Football Association had a successful day in representative matches on Saturday in Dunedin. It retained the Keach and Wembley Cups in matches against Southland. The Keach Cup match, between senior teams, was won by Otago by 2 goals to 1 after a scrappy game at the Caledonian ground. A newcomer to the side, a senior reserve A player. A. Van Schraa, scored both goals. Otago's shooting was sadly astray in the first half when all three goals were scored, and the narrow margin was a poor indication of the run of play.

The Wembley Cup was retained by the under 16 side. Although it conceded a territorial advantage to Southland, it scored two goals to one.
