Retail Meat Prices In January
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 22. Maximum retail meat prices for January announced in today’s Gazette show decreases in most sections. The seasonal decline in prices, which was first evidenced in the December price order, has become more marked, with decreases over most of the country of Id to 2d a pound in beef, hogget, and mutton prices and from Id to 4d a pound for lamb The new maximum prices will operate from January 4. They include:—
Beef, first grade: Id per lb decreases for Marlborough, Nelson and Westland and Canterbury districts. Hogget: Id per lb decrease for Marlborough, Nelson and Westland. and Canterbury districts. Mutton, first grade: Maximum prices are unchanged in the Marlborough. Nelson and Westland. and Canterbury districts. Lamb: Id per 1b decrease for Marlborough. Nelson and Westland, and Canterbury districts. Pork: Maximum prices are unchanged in the Marlborough. Nelson and Westland,, and Canterbury districts.
