NAVY OFFICER TRAINING
Revised Programme In

The Royal Australian Navy is revising its officer training programme to produce a new generation of naval officers qualified to cope with the increasing complexities of the technological age. The changes in officer training, to begin next year, were announced yesterday by the Minister of the Navy (Senator R. Gorton).
The new training programme includes extensioh of the course at the Royal Australian Naval College, the reintroduction of midshipmen in the Australian fleet, university degrees for technical officers and opportunities for all officers to receive a university education.
