Motor-Racing CALENDAR FOR 1961

Another U.S. Grand Prix (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, Dec. 2. Nine events, including another United States Grand Prix for Formula I machines, have been listed in the 1961 international automobile racing calendar. The final schedule, compiled by the Federation Internationale de I’Auitomobile, shows that four of the contests will count toward international championships for either drivers or manufacturers, or both. The four are: The Grand Prix of the United States for Formula I cars, on November 25-26, the Sebring 12-hour endurance race, on March 24-25, the Indianapolis Speedway “500” classic, on May 30, and a race at Watkins Glen, New York, on October 8. The complete list of international contests scheduled for the United States in 1961 is: February 24-26 Daytona Beach, Florida, touring cars; March 24-25—Sebring, Florida, 12hour endurance race for sports cars and grand touring cars; May 30—Indianapolis Speedway “500"; inter-continental formula cars and unclassified cars; June 24-25 —lndianapolis Raceway Park, in-ter-continental and formula; September 23-24—Indianapolis Raceway Park, sports car and Formula Junior; October B—Watkins Glen, New York, inter-continental and Formula Junior; October 14-15 Riverside, California, sports and grand touring cars; October 25-26 —Grand Prix of United States (Formula I world driving championship, _ Formula Junior and touring cars).
