With the surprise defeat of the j strong Dunsandel side by Irwell on t Saturday, the Ellesmere Cricket Subr Association’s senior competition has closed up considerably, four teams . being capable of obtaining the - lead. Dunsandel and Irwell now t lead with 15 points each, closely fol- , lowed by Leeston (12), Weedons (11) and Southbridge (7). » An Irwell player who did much i towards the downfall of the Dunr sandel batsmen was the medium paced bowler B. C. Heslop. With his 1 out-swingers he managed to take i the unusually large number of eight . wickets for only 17 runs. Irwell scored 117, compared with Dun- • sandel’s 61 Southbridge (185) drew with Leest ton (101 for seven). M.
