Several Sharp Drops On ’Change
Several s^ares dropped sharply in business on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday. Australian Consolidated Industries, after sales on Monday, at 77s 6d, changed hands at 725. Australian Chemical - Industries were Is down and Dalgety’s were Is 6d down. Bank of N.S.W., Dominion Breweries, New Zealand Breweries, Forest Products, Vibrapac notes, Waltons, Whakatane rights, Woolworths notes and Mount Isa showed smaller losses.
. Ashby, Bergh, in first business this month, gained 5s to sell at 62s 6d. Cyclone preference had first business for several months, Is 6d up at 20s. Rubber Distributors gained 2s 6d to 20s 6d and Woolworths (South Africa) rose Is 6d to 29s in first business for several months. Smaller gains were made by Evans Atlas, Wattje Canneries, and Whakatane preference. *
