CHILEAN RELIEF FUND

New Zealand Gift Of Mutton

(New Zeatana Press Association) INVERCARGILL, June 22.

A suggestion by the freezing companies in New Zealand that they give frozen meat to the Chilean earthquake relief fund has been well received by the International Red Cross Society. Cabled advice from Chile confirms that the people in some areas are desperately short of food, and arrangements are being made to ship carcases of New Zealand mutton immediately. About 25 tons of New Zealand frozen mutton has been given by freezing companies in the Dominion, the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, and Dalgety and Company. Ltd. Prompt delivery has been made possible by Dalgety’s arranging shipment from stocks of New Zealand mutton held in Peru

South American shipping companies and authorities are giving every assistance to facilitate delivery and distribution
