American Nurse Honoured

tNew Zeaiana Press Association* . AUCKLAND, June 10.

An American Roman Catholic nurse, teacher and missionary, Sister Mary Imelda, of Auckland, has been made an honorary member of the British Empire in the Queen’s Birthday honours list.

Since leaving America more than 20 years ago, Sister Imelda has served as a missionary in Western Samoa, as a nurse in Sydney and for six years was in charge of the hospital in the Chatham Islands. She has just finished a maternity course at St. Helen’s Hospital in Auckland.
