Rugby MATCH WITH BOLAND
Strong N.Z. Team
Selected
(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) CAPE TOWN. June 9.
The All Black selection committee took longer than usual tonight in deliberations before announcing the selection of. the team to play the strong Boland provincial team at Wellington, 40 miles away from Cape Town, on Saturday. As expected, it has selected a strong team. The most interesting feature is that T. O’Sullivan is placed at centre. No stranger to the position at provincial lezel, O'Sullivan could well be included in the test side and a good match against Boland should make his chances of an early test cap much stronger.
The only other change in the back line from that which beat South-west Africa at Windhoeke on Wednesday is A. H. Clarke at first five-eighth in place of S. R. Nesbit The Boland team, which includes four 1956 Springboks and two of last year’s Junior Springbok touring team in its pack, should be the toughest opposition the New Zealanders have yet faced. The All Black team is:
D. B. Clarke; R. W. Caulton, T. P. O’Sullivan, J. R. Watt; T. R. Lineen, A. H. Clarke: K. C. Briscoe; R. J. Conway; K. R. Tremain, C. E. Meads, I. N. MacEwan, P. F. H. Jones; W. J. Whineray, R. C. Hemi, M. W. Irwin.
