Moral Re-armament

Sir, —“L.S.” supports Moral ReArmament, as did the writer in the early stages. Today’s picture of the group indicates that its main objective is the crushing of communism. As such, it is now a political organisation, and because of this will lose many of its early supporters, including the writer. —Yours, etc, PRESBYTERIAN. June 9, 1960. Sir, —Your editorial says it is an achievement to send booklets to millions of homes. Yes, it is big money that is involved, part of the subsidising of the Moral Re-Armament ideology by the huge vote to combat communism by the United States. Most people will see this, but as usual the big money, while temporarily strong, has no ethical standards- So it is useless to try to use wealth to overcome what inevitably must come to the world if we are to survive. It would be far better to believe the remarks of the Red Dean, that the better side of Christianity has the same ideals as communism. Big money can take space in the daily papers, but that does not mean anything. Most people can think for themselves. —Yours, etc ACADEMIA. June 8, 1960.
