Air Radiation Watch
(N.Z. Press Association-Copyright) ALBANY (New York), June 8. A network to give Immediate warning of potentially dangerous radiation increases in the atmosphere, believed to be the first ol its kind in the world, is being set up in New York State. Mr Irving Sax, head of the State Health Department's radiological sciences group, said yesterday the new system should be in operation within a few months. It would consist of a number of automatic air “monitors,” which would be watched 24 hours a day, and would give warning of any significant increase in the radiation in the atmosphere.
