The leading jockey, Neville Sellwood, today advised Mr Chris Sourris, part-owner of Grand Garry, to scratch the horse from the £12,000 Brisbane Cup, for which he is second favourite, at Eagle Farm on Monday. Sellwood told Mr Sourris that Grand Garry, a son of the great New Zealand stayer, Dalray, could not win the cup, and his opinion was backed up by Ernie Smith, who is looking after the horse for his brother, T. J.
