EMPIRE SERVICES’ LEAGUE

A campaign to “strengthen the bonds of the British Empire’* and encourage trade between Commonwealth countries will be made this year by the Empire Services’ League in Christchurch. This was decided at the league’s annual meeting. The aim is to improve the demand for New Zealand-made goods and to Increase the membership of the league. Officers elected were:—chairman, Mr M. G. Proctor; secretary, Mrs K. A Hotchkin-Shaw; executive, Messes S. C. Cordner, L. W. Walshaw, and J. B. Durie.
