Times Established By West Coast Axemen

The secretary of the West Coast centre of the New Zealand Athletic. Cycling and Axemen’s Union (Mr W. Evans) has been advised by the New Zealand union that the following times for wood chopping and sawing events, established on the West Coast during the present season, have now

been recognised as New Zealand records:—

J. Creighton <l2in standing, kamahi), 25eec.

D. Seymour <l2in underhand, red beech), 23Jsec. J. E. Rogers (15in single-handed sawing, Lombardi poplar), ISeee. The previous record of 18.2 sec was held by K. Hutchinson, of Auckland.

J. E. Rogers and W. Mumm (13m double-handed sawing. Lombardi poplar), s.3sec. J. E. Rogen and W. Mumm (18in double-handed sawing, silver beech). 14.8 sec.
