A ROYAL MARRIAGE OF 1863.—This engraving, in the private collection of Queen Elizabeth H at Windsor Castle, shows the scene at the marriage of Edward, Prince of Wales (afterwards King Edward VII), with Princess Alexandra of Denmark, at Windsor Castle on March 10, 1863. Their eldest daughter, Princess Louise, was the second of Queen Victoria’s descendants to marry outside the royal circle. On July 27, 1889, she married the Earl of Fife, who was created a duke two days later.
