Croquet CLOSING DAY FUNCTION
The Canterbury Croquet Association’s annual closing day was held in the United club's pavilion recently. On behalf of the New Zealand Croquet Council, Mrs W. H. Kirk presented council badges to the following:— A grade: Mrs H. A. Penn. Intermediate grade: Mrs C. J. Pomeroy. B grade: O. Anderson. C grade: Mrs J. Popenhagen.
Inter-club shields were presented to the following:— Senior grade: St. James Park. Pennant grade: Redcllffs. Intermediate: Sumner. B grade: Hornby. C grade: United. Competition winners during the afternoon were Mesdames F. Redman, K. Found, E. Todd. A. Blakemore, A. Boyce, and Dixon.
