NASSELLA BOARD ELECTIONS

Mr T. G. Maxwell New Chairman

Mr T. G. Maxwell, a co-opted member, was elected chairman of the North Canterbury Nassella Tussock Board at its annual general meeting at Waikari yesterday. Mr L. R. C. Maafarlane (Amuri) was elected vice-chairman.

Mr Maxwell replaces Mr M. C. Hyde, who has been chairman for the last five years. Messrs Maxwell, S. G. Taylor, P. F. Childs, R. S. Shearer, A. A. Macfarlane, J. Stevenson, and A. R. Dingwall were elected to the works committee. Members of the executive elected were Messrs Maxwell. L. R. C. Macfarlane, Hyde, W. Briggs, D. R. Wilkie, and Dingwall. Messrs Maxwell, Hyde and J. W. Earl were re-nominated as coopted members of the board before the election of officers. • Members of the board at present are Messrs J. Stevenson and F. K. Forrester (Waipara), A. A. Macfarlane and L. R. C. Macfarlane (Amuri), P. F. Childs and R.. S. Harrison (Cheviot), W. Briggs and R. S. Shearer (Kowai), Maxwell, Hyde and Earl (coopted), A. R. Dingwall and D. R. Wilkie (Department of Agriculture), S. G. Taylor (Lands and Survey Department), and H. E. Connor (Department of Scientific and Industrial Research).
