Soccer N.S.W. JUNIOR TOUR
F.I.F.A. Toße Flouted
(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) SYDNEY, April 29. The New South Wales Junior Soccer Association is expected to flout the World Soccer Federation, and send a schoolboy team to tour New Zealand, according to a Sydney "Daily Telegraph" report.
Fifteen schoolboys and two officials are scheduled to leave Sydney next Friday for the first Australian junior soccer international tour. The F.I.F.A. has notified the New Zealand Football Association’s junior council that the proposed schoolboy tour is illegal. The F.I.F.A. has ruled that the Australian Soccer Association and all its affiliated bodies cannot take part in international soccer until the world disqualification of some migrant players is lifted.
The disqualified players are members of leading soccer clubs, Prague and Canterbury-Marrick-ville.
Mr Keith Gilmour, secretary of the N.S.W. junior association, said plans for the schoolboy tour were so advanced they would not be cancelled.
Mr Gilmour said: “The State junior association has travelling commitments that it will not forego. We intend to go ahead with the tour even if we are forced to play friendly matches in New Zealand.
“This is the start of international junior football for Australia. We are not going to allow anything to interfere with its development”
