Rejection Of Paintings
Sir, —Having seen the many letters during the last few weeks, for and against, Mr Bracey’s painting, I would like to comment on this subject. Firstly, hats off to the people who refuse to spend public money on such trash as the "Bracey” obviously is. Knowing little about “art” but being able to appreciate the beautiful things which God has given us, I would say that this contemporary attempt at art, which looks like a board in coloured daubs, to play noughts and crosses on, is a disgrace to any school of art, and certainly nothing which can be admired by future generations.— Yours, ete, o bqno puBLICO January, 22, 1960.
