NOHOLME IN MELBOURNE

“First Emergency” For Todman (N.Z. Press Association—Cowright) MELBOURNE, January 25. The three-year-old Noholme, which proved himself the best ■horse in Australia last spring, is being brought to Melbourne for the autumn meetings as a reserve to his elder brother, Todman. His trainer, Maurice McCarten. said today that he had not planned a Melbourne race for Noholme. He said he might not have a start while he is here. “Todman is the horse for the Melbourne meeting. I am bringing Noholme down but at present it is only for the trip. He is what you would call first emergency,” McCarten said. McCarten said Todman would have his first start in Melbourne in the weight-for-age Lightning Stakes at Flemington on February 6.

“After the Lightning Stakes I will decide on his other races for the autumn,” he said. “He is doing well and his leg is standing up well.”
