GOLF BALLS IN BACK YARD
Auckland Man Now Has 92

AUCKLAND, September 22.
Some people collect stamps; others collect coins, beer, bottle labels, miniatures, and items of rare or unusual value. But one city man has a hobby with a difference and collects golf balls —from his back garden at that.
He has 92 of them, all collected in the last 10 months. Mr L. A. Ferguson lives with his wife in a new home in Challinor crescent. Through landscape windows they command a magnificent view of the rolling green Chamberlain Park golf course. But they do have their worries. So far, at least 92 balls have been hooked or sliced into their backyard. A wire screen erected at one end of their boundary has made little difference. Balls still come whizzing over. However, they consider their view worth the risk of a broken window or two. The balls are not for sale.
Mr Ferguson is thinking of taking up golf. If he does it will be a long time before he has to buy golf balls. He has no reason to believe his supply will cease.
