TRAINER OUT FOR 12 MONTHS
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 23.
The Auckland District Committee today disqualified from the race the horse Overdue, winner of the President’s Handicap at Avondale on June 26.
The committee also disqualified A. H. Carter, trainer of Overdue, for 12 months. The committee held that drugs or stimulants capable of affecting the horse’s speed, stamina, courage or conduct had been administered to Overdue and that Carter had not taken all proper precautions to prevent the administration of the drug or stimulant.
A similar charge against Mrs S. Carter was dismissed.
