FILM PART FOR HORSE

Record Holder, Silver Phantom

(N.Z Press Association— Copyright) SYDNEY, September 23.

Silver Phantom, winner of the 1953 Epsom Handicap and Australian mile record holder, will resume racing. He will be the horse star in the film “The Sundowner.”

Yesterday in Centennial Park, Sydney, Silver Phantom was selected from a number of other grey horses'for the starring role in the film.

It was his old jockey, Neville Sellwood, who coached the grey to success for the part. After Silver Phantom broke down with a fractured sesamoid bone he was retired to Sellwood’s property at Cudal where he has been used as a hack by Sellwood and his children.

Many scenes for “The Sundowner” will be filmed in the Snowy Mountains and a race meeting will be held at Cooma for filming.

The meeting will be officially registered and all costs will be paid by the company. There will be six races and an exhibition event which will be taken for the film. That is the race Silver Phantom will run in, and win. ,
