IRWELL FARM SOLD
£4250 Paid For 40 Acres
A small farm of 40 acres at Irwell attracted keen interest from about 25 persons when it was offered for sale at public auction yesterday. Bidding rose quickly from £3300 to £4250 for which the farm was sold. The property, comprising present cropping and grazing land, and suitable for grain and small seed crops, has a dwelling of five main rooms and farm outbuildings. It was offered on account of Mrs C. Miller. Nine bids of £lOO took the price to £4lOO, and four further bids of £5O and £25 were made. A home in St. Albans was passed in at £l5OO, and a house in Addington was sold for £l4lO, at other auctions in the city yesterday.
