Driver Committed For Trial

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 23. Charles Mclntyre Duncan, aged 34, a butcher, of Wadestown, was committed by Mr F. Scully, S.M . to the Supreme Court for trial when he pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court at Wellington today to a charge of negligent driving causing death and to two charges of negligent driving causing injury. Duncan elected trial by jury. The charges arose from an accident in Adelaide road on May 8. when a pedestrian, Charles Edwin Quested, aged 53. a barman, was killed. Two other pedestrians. Colin Gollan and John Edward Prendeville, both barmen, were injured.

Thieves Enter School.— Some : time on Tuesday night thieves broke into the Aranui School. Breezes road, and stole a cash box containing £2, the proceeds of stationery sales. Entry was gained by breaking a window of the school office.
