Hockey NEW PLYMOUTH TOURNEY
Secondary Schools Compete
(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. August 25. Queen Elizabeth Technical College (Palmerston North) and Marlborough College share the lead with three wins each in the New Zealand Secondary Schools' Hockey Association's annual tournament being held at New Ply-mouth.
Four rounds have been plaved, and the final round will be plaved tomorrow morning. If any teams have scored the same number of wins at the end of the final round the tournament winner will be decided on a count-back of the goals scored.
New Plymouth Boys' High School entered a protest against Marlbbrough College alter being beaten. 3-2, in the first round of today's games, but alter considering the protest the tournament committee allowed the score to stand. New Plymouth protested against the final goal scored by Marlborough. Today's games were held in perfect conditions. Results were:—Marlborough College 3, New Ply-mouth Boys’ High School 2; Queen Elizabeth Technical College 3, Thames High School 1; Te Awamutu College 2, Freyberg College 2; Freyberg College 3. New Plymouth Boys’ High School 0; Queen Elizabeth Technical College 2. Te Awamutu College 1; Marlborough College 8. Thames High School 0
