APPLICATIONS FOR SECTIONS

Ballot To Be Held On Friday

There were 27 applicants for 15 building sections available in Christchurch, Akaroa, Mount for which there were eight applications closed with the Commissioner of Crown Lands at 1 p.m. yesterday. A ballot will be held at 10.30 a.m. on Friday to decide the successful applicants.

The sections available in Christchurch comprise two in Memorial avenue, near Wooldridges road, for which there were eight applicants; one in Hoon Hay road, one in Curletts road and one in Prestons road. Only the Burnside sections are connected to the sewer. Two sections available near the Akaroa township had only one applicant. Four at Mount Somers had none.

Three servicemen applicants may have preference over other applicants.
