Annual Reunion Ball
Huge bowls of mimosa, hawthorn, and almond blossom decorated the foyer of the Winter Garden last evening for the St. Andrew's College Old Boys’ Association's reunion ball.
The president of the Old Boys’ Association, Mr D. C. McMillan, and Mrs McMillan, assisted by Mr P. W. Hilson. a vice-president, and Mrs Hilson, welcomed the guests, who included representatives from Ashburton High School Old Pupils’ Association; Christchurch Eoys’ High School Old Boys’ Association; West Christchurch High School Old Pupils’ Association; Christ’s College Old Boys’ Association; Waitaki High School Old Boys’ Association: Rangi-ruru Old Girls’ Association; St. Bede’s College Old Boys’ Association; St. Margaret’s Old Girls’ Association; the Rector, Mr L. W. Stewart and Mrs Stewart; and the president of the Parent-Teacher Association, Mr T. M. Stanton, and Mrs Stanton.
Mrs McMillan chose a frock of embossed blue nylon with a contrasting garnet velvet sash. The bodice was softly draped and the skirt was bouffant.
Mrs P. W. Hilson wore a bal-lerina-length frock of figured gold brocade. The bodice featured an off-the-shoulder swathing. Mrs Stewart’s frock was of blue crystalline with a draped bodice and a softly gathered skirt. Mr G. A. M. Hilson was secretary of the ball committee, which was composed of members of the Otago Boys’ Association executive. The decorations were carried out by wives of committee members, under the direction of Mrs G. A. M. Hilson.
