N.Z. PLOUGHING CHAMPIONSHIP
22 Competitors To Contest Final Qualifying events for the New Zealand Ploughing Association's national ploughing championship ended last Saturday at Timaru and 22 competitors will start in the Anal contest for the Atlantic Silver Plough at Hastings next Saturday. The winner of the championship will represent New Zealand in the world Championship at Annoy, in Northern Ireland, on October 8 and 9. The national ploughing championship has revived, interest in competitive ploughing in New Zealand and spectator attendances at country matches have shown a . considerable increase. Applications to the New Zealand Ploughing Association from member associations fen: qualifying events have been gt a record level this year. The 22 ploughmen who will compete at Hastings, with the match at which they qualified in parenthesis, are:— R Denby, Cambridge (Waikato!; R. Meeke, Te Aroha (Re-poroa-Rotorua); J. S.
