Empire Loyalists’ Statement (New Zeaiana Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 17. “To include Maoris in the All Black team to tour South Africa in 1960 is out of the question," said the League of Empire Loyalists in *. supplied statement tonight. “If more effort had beta made to understand apartheid, the present controversy need not have arisen.” The league said that apartheid had been called vicious and immoral. "We believe* that it is moral for a race to fight for survival, and that segregation is necessary to the survival of the white race, and of civilisation in Africa." The league concluded their statement by saying that most of the agitators In the present controversy were "clearly innocent race-mixers who imagine that all human problems will magically disappear If only humanity can be merged into one raceless mass.”
