ANCIENT ORDER OF FORESTERS
Mr C. W. Miles Elected Chief Ranger
Mr C. W. Miles, of Kaiapoi, was elected district chief ranger at the ninety-sixth annual meeting of the Canterbury United District of the Ancient Order of Foresters’ Friendly Society, held at Kaiapoi. Delegates from all courts of the society attended the meeting, as well as visitors from as far away as Invercargill. t Mr G. Middlewood, district chief ranger.
of Courtenay, presided and gave a detailed report of the year’s activities. A substantial increase in membership was reported, and an increase in the number of members lost through death. The various funds set aside for the benefit of members were in a healthy position and showed the usual increase. Court Woodford won both the adult and junior competitions held during the year for ritual work. The prize for having introduced the most new members was won by Court Pride of Courtenay. Mr J. E. Kneale, of Ashburton, was elected the new member on the executive committee.
