UNION SEEKS INJUNCTION

Court Reserves Decision (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 13. Decision was reserved by Mr Justice Turner in the Supreme Court at Auckland today on the motion by the New Zealand Dairy Factory Workers’ Union and seven employees of the Mount Eden butter factory for an injunction restraining the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company from terminating the employment of the seven workers. It is alleged that the seven workers were given notice when they refused to accept a reduction in the weekly attendance bonus at the factory from £1 to 10s. A declaration rendering invalid the notice of dismissal issued is also sought. For the union, Mr F. H. Haigh claimed the circumstances under which the employees were given notice amounted to a lock-out.
