May Gives Cap To Benaud
(N.Z Press Association—Copvright) MELBOURNE, February 19. The England captain, P. B. H. May, to loud applause and cheering from 2000 spectators in front of the players’ pavilion of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, presented his cap to the Australian captain, R. Benaud, yesterday, after Australia’s fifth test win. May said: “Congratulations. Richie, on a magnificent series by you and your team. We have all enjoyed it, and we hope your players did too. I have here my cap. which I would like to present to you.” Benaud answered: "Thank you very much, Peter. I may never have been good enough to play for England, but I'm on tiie way new with this cap.
