RIGHT OF WAY FOR BUSES

Mr Kellar Has Doubts The Traffic Superintendent of the Christchurch City Council (Mr G. P. Kellar) believes the proposal to give buses the right of way over other traffic when pulling out from stopping places should be given very serious consideration before implementation. The proposal has been made by the Public Passenger Transport Association and the Transport Department has asked road safety councils for their views. Mr Kellar thinks that such right of way for buses could cause accidents, particularly when a bus pulled out into a busy traffic lane.
