PARLIAMENT’S DIARY
When Parliament sat yesterday afternoon, two Ministers, Mr Fox and Mr Skoglund, were granted leave because of sickness. Two local measures, the Nelson Harbour Board Empowering Bill and the Kaikohe Borough Empowering Bill, were introduced and referred to the Local Bills Committee. Four reports of select committees were tabled. The House then proceeded with the Budget debate, and the Opposition’s motion of no-confidence. The speakers were: Government.— Messrs N. J. King (Waitemata) and E. J. Keating (Hastings), and the Minister of Customs (Mr Boord). Opposition.— Messrs J. A.
Roy (Clutha), D. J. Eyre (North Shore) and D. C. Seath (Waitomo).
