Annual Meeting Of Association
The balance-sheet and report of the Canterbury Amateur Billiards Association showed that the year had been successful. The credit balance was £l9 17s 9d hnd the assets £236 ss. One new affiliated club was granted—the Fitzgerald Social Club. It makes 15 affiliated clubs. Officers elected were:—Patron, Sir Ernest Andrews; president. Mr G; S. Simpson; vice president, Mr J. Black; match committee, Messrs C. Hamilton, T. Quaid, M. Hamilton, H. Hewinson; judicial committee, Messrs J. Black, N. Mason, H. Hewinson; finance committee, Messrs G. S. Simpson, C. Hamilton, J. Black; delegate to the New Zealand Billiards Association and Control Council, Mr Simpson; honorary solicitors, Messrs Hobbs and Corbett; honorary auditors, Messrs Caygill, Hibberd and Moore; honorary secretarytreasurer, Mr E. Simms. The retiring secretary-treasurer. Mr Simpson, who has held office for 20 years, did not seek reelection. The venue for the 1958 New Zealand amateur billiards and snooker championships will be Christchurch. Mr T. Quaid was elected a life member of the association. Nominations for the 1958 interclub billiards tournament will close next Wednesday, and the season will open on April 16.
