METHODIST LEADER
Dr. D. O. Williams Speaks To Women
There were 300 women present at a meeting yesterday afternoon in the Durham Street Methodist Hall to hear the Rev. Dr D. O. Williams, president of the Methodist church of New Zealand. “Men have much to learn from women,” said Dr Williams. “Men approach problems from the standpoint of logic and violence. Women employ love and understanding.’’ Dr Williams said that his mission was to appraise the men of the Church of this fact. Dr Williams also spoke of the different marriage customs of the East and West. “The Western problem is to teach man and wife to live together in mutual love and esteem while developing their individual personalities to the full,” he said.
Last evening Dr. Williams gave a public address on his experiences in personal counselling. He spoke of every person’s need for acceptance by others.
