EMPIRE GAMES NOMINATIONS
Grading May Be Reconsidered
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 17. The New Zealand swimming selectors are reported in Auckland to be considering regrading their Empire Games relay nominees—Misses T. Staveley, K. Sawyers, and Jennifer Hunter—ahead of the distance swimmer, C. McFadden, of Christchurch. The present grading placed McFadden after Miss P. Gould (backstroke) and R. L. Hodge (dive), and ahead of the three relay swimmers. The fast times recorded by the relay team in training make its members better prospects at Cardiff than McFadden, whose times are much slower than those of the Australians he would meet there.
