The British Phosphates Commission ship Trienza, now discharging phosphate at Lyttelton from Ocean Island, is the second ship to load under the recently Installed cantilever at Ocean Island. The vessel loaded 8700 tons of phosphate in nine hours. This would have taken three 16-hour days to load from barges A cantilever plant was in use at Ocean Island before the war, but it was destroyed by a German raider Three of the commission’s ships were also destroyed, the Trienza, which was built in 1938, being the . only survivor of the pre-war fleet.
