Rebels Killed In Algeria
ALGIERS. March 18. Security troops killed 49 insurgents in a battle in the Sidi Mesrich region of Eastern Algeria which lasted from March 15 to 17. French authorities reported late last night. One French soldier was killed and three wounded. In an action yesterday near Nemoers, in the West, 12 insurgents were killed. One Moslem was killed and three others wounded when public works lorries were ambushed by insurgents’ machine-gun fire near Mascara.
