Military Training
Sir, —After eight years, we at last have a Government humane enough to refuse to continue an outmoded system merely to please the militarists. Regarding the referendum of 1949, is it any wonder that it was carried, when even the major churches refused to say anything against it? Good luck to the Labour Government If it can put the militarists firmly in their place, it will have my gratitude for all time.—Yours, etc., former CONSCRIPT. March 7, 1958.
