REPATRIATION OF ALIENS
Close Watch Kept By Government
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 9.
Individual cases, not only of Hungarian refugees but also of any other aliens whose conduct warranted investigation would be closely examined, the Minister of Immigration (Mr Hackett) said at the week-end. The Minister said it was difficult to repatriate refugees whose conduct while in New Zealand had not been in their own interests or those of the country. Apart from any other consideration, one of the difficulties was that a visa granting entry to a particular country must first be obtained. The position was being watched by the Government.
