Sambo Wins Main Race

(New Zealand Press Association) TE AWAMUTU. March 9 Close finishes in several races werea feature of the Te Awamutu Trotting Club’s autumn meeting on Saturday. The weather was perfect and the track in order. The double. Sambo and Firemoana. paid £B3 for. £l.

Although the attendance was lowered by counter attractions oncourse investments increased slightly, the turnover being £20,179. compared with £18,334 10s last year. After an inquiry into alleged interference in the Stewards’ Handicap, Belhan, which finished third, was relegated to fourth, and Great Britannia was promoted. No action was taken against R. Purdon, driver of Belhan, the committee being satisfied that he did everything possible to avoid the interference. Results:—
