TALENT QUEST FINALISTS

Winner To Have Screen Test Three girls—Nola Tate of Timaru, Margaret Orsbourn of Invercargill, and Noeline Sellars of Dunedin—were selected from the eight South Island finalists in the talent quest “Search For a Star,” promoted by “Cinema. Stage, and T.V. Magazine,” at the Majestic Theatre last evening. The girls were judged on speech, general knowledge, fashion, and deportment. A fashion parade of autumn clothing was also presented by six local mannequins. Early in April the three girls will go to Auckland, along with six other finalists from the North Island, for the finals. The winning girl will be sent to Great Britain for a screen test with the J. Arthur Rank Organisation as well as a test for television work. The value of the trip will be, with all accessories included, £l5OO.
