Lyttelton Cargo Statistics

Cargo handled at Lyttelton last month amounted to 107,881 tons, compared with 107,102 tons in February, 1957. Imports were 70,951 tons (74,280 tons in the previous February), and exports 36,930 tons (32,822 tons).

For the five months of the Lyttelton Harbour Board’s financial year, there have been 622,419 tons i handled, compared with 622,001 I tons in the corresponding period of 1956-57.

Last month, 87 ships, with a total tonnage of 218,899, entered the port, compared with 90 vessels, of a tonnage of 178,124 in February of last year.
