Regular Service To Scandinavia
(Neu> Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 5. The Scandinavian Conference Lines are to operate a direct monthly shipping service from Scandinavian and northern European ports to main New Zealand ports. Sufficient cargo is offering to make monthly sailings possible. The ships to be used are fast cargo liners, which carry 12 passengers. They will sail via the Panama Canal.
The first vessel In the new service, the motorship Tiber, is due at Auckland on April 9. She will be followed by the Pasadena and the Peter Neilson. The Scandinavian Conference Lines comprise the Wilhelmsen Line, East Asiatic Company, and TransAtlantic Steam Ship Company. Ships of these lines are already servicing main New Zealand ports every second month.
