MR SELWYN LLOYD BEGINS TOUR
(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, March 4. The British Foreign Secretary, Mr Selwyn Lloyd, left by air today to attend Ministerial conferences in Rome and Manila. He
will attend the Western European Council meeting in Rome tomorrow and on Thursday, and the South-east Asia Treaty Orgnisation Council session in Manila from March 10 to 13.
Mr Lloyd told reporters at London airport that in Rome he
would have informal talks with other delegates on the European free trade area, British Forces in West Germany, disarmament and disengagement.
His trip would give him an opportunity to meet the United States and French Foreign Ministers, Mr Dulles and Mr Pineau, he said. Political observers believe the Foreign Secretaries will discuss summit conference preparations and the French-Tunisian dispute at informal talks. Mr Lloyd said that he also welcomes the opportunity of meeting the New Zealand Prime Minister and External Affairs Minister, Mr Nash, and the Australian External Affairs Minister, Mr Casey.
